Cleat spacers are used to effectively lengthen the shorter leg of cyclists with a leg length discrepancy. Signs of such a discrepancy can include:

• Overextension on one side at the bottom of the pedaling movement
• Tilting the pelvis or leaning the rider to one side of the saddle to maintain contact with the pedals during the lower pedal stroke
• One leg feels understretched while the other feels “right”

Provided the seating position is correct and a leg length discrepancy has been identified, the above-mentioned problems can be corrected with the use of leg length adjusters. Proper adjustment can lead to more even leg extension, stabilize the pelvis, and enable a smoother, more controlled kick on the shorter side.

In some cases, leg length adjustments can also help with functional leg length discrepancies. While there is no anatomical discrepancy, a significant unequal leg extension is evident when cycling. In such cases, it is essential to consult a bike fitter before attempting any measures.

FORM's patented MTB shims are the only "walkable" MTB shims on the market and were specifically developed to solve the typical problems of conventional MTB shims, namely:

• Difficulty walking or clicking
• A wobbly and unstable connection to the pedals

FORM’s product solves these problems by:

• Two parallel treads that protect the cleat and increase stability when clicking in
• Bevelled front edges that make clicking in easier
• Two sets of pins that extend into the shoe and prevent twisting

These shims are ideal for gravel, cyclocross or cross-country MTB rides where a lot of time is spent pedaling while seated, and are best suited for traditional MTB, gravel or touring shoes with a MTB-typical (2-hole) cleat system.

The V2 shim is compatible with all MTB cleats, including SPD, Time ATAC and Crank Brothers.
