The feet are the most important contact point on the bike. That's why we dedicate the first 20 to 30 minutes of a bike fitting solely to the feet. We measure them, assess the foot shape in relation to the cycling shoe, and optimally position the cleats under the shoe.

Insoles are an effective aid for improving foot stability, foot control, and sensorimotor feedback. This ensures more efficient power transfer, increases performance, and can simultaneously reduce discomfort in the feet, knees, hips, or saddle area.

Winsole's custom-made cycling insoles are precisely tailored to your foot shape and individually crafted for you. Specific characteristics and any pressure points are directly incorporated into the manufacturing process. This ensures optimal support, superior comfort, and noticeably improved control in your cycling shoes.

Why even need a deposit?

We are big advocates of natural movement patterns. While insoles in everyday shoes certainly have their place, for example, when they alleviate back, knee, or hip pain, we see little point in providing long-term, preventative support for the feet. This is because it often leads to reduced activity of the foot muscles, which can not only exacerbate existing foot problems but also impair the supply of nutrients and oxygen to the feet and toes. Mechanisms like the windlass effect, where the rolling motion of the foot controls muscle activation, are essential aids in this regard. Therefore, barefoot shoes and giving your feet a break are very important to us.

The situation is different in cycling shoes. Due to the stiff carbon or hard plastic sole, stability mechanisms like the windlass effect, which rely on the rolling motion of the foot, cannot occur. This results in a lack of key active dynamic stability mechanisms in the foot. To prevent a resulting collapse of the arch and to improve sensorimotor feedback, insoles are often highly recommended for use in cycling shoes.
